Thread: need BV instructions for adding 2nd site

I'm sure the instructions are here somewhere, but I don't know where to look.

I have one site being hosted by VH and am working on a second site. This is a site that is already published elsewhere that I am re-building in BV. Are there complete instructions here somewhere that would help me and would keep me from mixing my two sites together?

I thought I remembered that additional sites would be placed on different servers. Where can I find the instructions? Thank you in advance.

Not necessarily, you can have more than one site on your account. It is recommended that you setup different folders for your websites, helps avoid confusing files.
It seems you already have 3 sites under your signature, are these all BV under your account?

No, only the portraits site is with VH. I am in the process of moving Garden Party Teas and the third is my eBay store. Do I need to remove these from my signature and only add the tea site after it is transferred?

I am embarassed to say that I had already viewed the post to which you directed me and had watched the tutorial. I just didn't think it applied to adding a second site. ? ? ? I've added the domain name and hope that I won't have to ask any more dumb questions. Thank you.

Hey Barbara! First of all...there are no dumb questions. We do hope you will come back to the forum and not only ask more questions, but share your knowledge with others!

I assume then, you have seen the tutorial on add-on Domains. You will want to add your 2nd site as an add on Domain. When you do this, it will automatically create a folder of the same name in your public-html file. When you get ready to publish you 2nd site you will want to publish it to that folder. So it will look like this on the folder line, public_html/2ndsitefoldername. I hope that helps!

As to the links in your signature - yes you need to remove any links that aren't to VH sites. That's one of the forum rules. But you'll soon be able to add the 2nd one back :)
