Thread: Mocrosoft Office

I would like visitors to my site to be able to view a Microsoft Word document and a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet on my website. They do not need the ability to interact with these only read them. These pages will be updated on a regular basis by myself. Any ideas at all would be much appreciated.

I believe you upload the file into your public_html with the FTP manager.

You then link it to text or an image with a link similiar to this:

http://www.yoursite/doc1.doc

There is a Tutorial on this subject in Blue Voda so you should check that out just in case I've got it wrong. But if you want the actual document viewable as people enter the site I am unsure how you would do this.

Hi, couple of choices on this. If your word & speadsheets are verly basic, then open one of your files & click on File/view as web page. If its ok then save as web page. You will then be able to upload this file to the server & have it show as a normal web page. This is the same for XL.
One that also maybe worth a look is Google Docs & Spreadsheets Tour http://www.google.com/google-d-s/intl/en/tour1.html The advantage with this is you can let any one see this on your site & also if wanted, invite others to change or alter the content if you wanted & only with your permision.
