I want to put a different name at the top of my index page,the problem
i am having is if i open page 1 it shows at the top plus in my Taskbar
as Page 1-Microsoft Internet Explorer,which is ok.But the problem is
index Page 1 is also in the Taskbar,i think it should close and let the
other page open in that spot.All of the other web-sites that i have seen
that is the case.when you open a page it should say the same in the
top left as in the Taskbar,if you continue to open pages they just keep building up in the Tasbar,and it takes forever to close the web-site.

If your index page is your home page you have to save it as "index" Do you mean the heading of the page???

As to opening your pages - you must have told each page to open in a new window (blank) which you do not want - that's why you have each page opening separately. If you don't choose anything there it will open in the same window. (Or choose Top). (You do this in page properties.)

I'm having the same problem with each page opening in a separate window. However, I don't see an option to change in Page Properties. Am I just not looking in the right place?

It is in the same area that you typed the url for the link ...

you will notice target

leave this area empty if you do not want it opening up new windows ..

also .. you might consider giving you page a different title than page1 - the page title should be your change to grab the attention of the searcher - meaning have your page title reflect what is on the page ..
