Thread: Navigation Bar Question

Hello

My site is www.miscarriage-ni.org.uk

When allocating a Target when editing a navbar button the options are

_blank
_self
_parent
_top

Can anyone explain the differences between these options.

blank will open a new page and is recommended if the link takes the visitor outside of your website. that way when he leaves the new page he will return to your website. self is recommeded if the link is within your website, such as home to about us, as you will have the same links on the about us page. the least number of windows that a visitor will open the better it is for him. i'm not quite sure the value of the other 2 but it has to do with iframes and links, perhaps someone more knowledgeable with those final 2 can help you.
