Question Pictures Disappeared from Edit

Most of the pictures I placed on a page no longer appear when I open the page to edit it. The shapes I created around the images appear. I deleted one or two and replaced them with a new picture which shows up. When I publish the page ALL pictures show up. Why did they disappear from the page in edit? How do I restore them in the edit mode?
My site is: www.arlenegreenportraits.com and the page named "Oils" is the page in question.
I posted a similar question earlier today but I can't find it now and had received no response the last time I did find it. Sorry to post twice but I need help with this problem, please!
Thanks,
tumbleweed

Hi, can only assume you have moved the image on your computer, or maybe took the images off a CD or stick & this is not inserted or plugged in. The images will show up on your site as they will already at the server from when you last published.
If you do reinsert them into your page, it would be a good time to name the images correctly & get the KB's down on the thumbnails as the page ads up to a few meg in size & is very slow loading.
On the naming part? http://www.arlenegreenportraits.com/...0Web%20010.jpg
would be better as?
HTML Code:
http://www.arlenegreenportraits.com/john-wayne-portrait.jpg
so the SE's can find you. This would apply to most of the images.

Good luck.

Thanks, Chris,
The pics didn't come from a stick or cd--they were on My Pictures in My Documents, saved. They had been moved into the page previously and had always showed up until two days ago. I use PIXresizer to size them.
I'm not clear on your suggestion of re-naming the photos. Since I am not naming them on the site I thought the names I have in my own folders was just to be able to locate them when I select for loading. Am I wrong about this? I will follow your advice as I am not savvy in all this. Thanks,
Tumbleweed

Ah! PIXresizer gives them a new name to save over witting your original image & loosing it. IE: if your image was
http://www. arlenegreenportraits.com/john-wayne-portrait.jpg
When it was put through pixresizer, it will be soothing like.....
