Thread: Jpeg to gif

Hi
To improve the loading times for my site I have spent an age going thru all of my pictures and reducing their size using an online image optimser. All of the pictures are saved as jpeg files in my images folder and have been published as such yet I have now noticed that some have changed to gif files when I check them out on my site??? Can anyone tell me why this is + don't gif files take longer to load thereby wasting my time reducing my pictures in the first place. Have a look at my book gallery (not finished yet) some are jpeg and some are gif.

I sure don’t jpeg list as gifs… Using Photo Shop, I have found gif to be lighter than jpeg; in kb.. Hope that helps … Doug
