24 to 48 hours until your domain propogates. Make sure you have it pointed to the server

If the temporary url you are referring to is the http://ip_address/~cpanel_username
Where "ip_address" is the IP for your server and "cpanel_username" is your cpanel username, that url doesn't expire, its temporary in the sense you can use it until your domain has propagated, you can continue to use it afterwards if you wish.
