Thread: Ideal width to set page prop at?

What is the ideal width to set my page properties to so that people do not have to scroll left or right to view website?

800 is the most common option. About 20% of all users still uses the 800 x 600 resolution screens. Thus good to have the page width 800 to cater for these users as well.

Some designers and customers also like to have the pages set at 1000, but it is adviced to have the least important stuff in the area between the 800 and 1000 margin.
