Default File Not Found on BV start

If you set BV options to open the last file you were working on and then move or delete that file, the next time BV opens it tries to find it, can't and then will not start - Just gives a File Not Found message. You then have to go find the file you moved/deleted and put it back where it was to get BV started again or else reload BV from scratch.
Wouldn't it be better to give a message and then start anyway?

Thx (windgigs.com)

Hi,

After saving just leave the file open and close BV.

when you reopen BV the above file will also be automatically opened.

That's the issue - if after you close BV you then move or delete the file that was open when you closed BV then when you restart BV it can't find it and will not start - just gives you the not found message.

Hi Winntec,
I agree with you fully. I have simulated your scenario and there is now way to get out of it, unless you restore the file name to it previous name and location (or else re-install). My suggestion (it works): Using the Tools >> Options >> General tab, untick the "..use most recent..." checkbox. Instead, open the Folders tab, then browse to and select the folder containing your BV files, and click OK. When you open BV and you click Open, you will automatically be routed to the folder set above.

Maybe you should put this in the Wish List and Idea Bin forum....
