Thread: How to create download link to pdf

Have created a sales page and thank you page. The link on the thank you page to a pdf for download cannot be activated. have tried everything possible including consulting the forum posts and the tutorials but can't get any further. Can anyone help ( I get the message - URL not found every time) Need to know urgently.

Did you upload the PDF file manually to the server, in the correct sub-domain public_html/ directory (so it could be "found")??

Thanks for replying. I had uploaded the pdf manually to the public_html directory but it doesn't work. The sales page is separate from the thank you page which is named as ...........html. The 2 pages can't be linked together obviously but should that make any difference if the pdf is in the public_html directory? Any suggestions much appreciated.

You are correct, you did upload it to the public_html directory which is the directory for your main domain ...

However, if you would like to have this pdf as part of the sub-domain that you created you will need to instead upload it to the sailingmadeeasy directory (which is the folder inside of the public_html folder that you created for the sub-domain sailingmadeeasy)

So you can log into your control panel and move this pdf from the mizzmouse (public_html) directory into the sailingmadeeasy directory and your problem will be solved and the link that you have already applied will work ..
