I want to create a text menu but the background of the text menu does not stay transparent and I have a background color so it looks tacky.

Can I create individual text links to use as my menu?? Will doing this cause any problems once my site is published?

I love the look of the buttons but if google prefers text links, then I would really like to use text.

You can but if you still want to use the text menu double click it in the styles tab set it to automatic if is not already. If you have already changed it you may have to delete it and start over with a new menu.

To create your own using text simply insert the text, highlight it and click the link button at the top of the builder.
