    Default site map visibility

    I am ready to add a site map to my site (I hope)
    I still need to watch tutorials and search more threads but the question I have as I start my research is

    If I use one of my navigation buttons to the site map page will it be read by the search engines in the same way as it would if I had a single link to the site map at the bottom of the page.

    I want to use one of my empty bottom nav buttons for a site map and one for my privacy policy but I also want to make every effort to be found

    Thank You in advance for any help

    There are 2 types of site maps, one for the seo's and the other for humans, and they are quite different in content.

    The BV site map is for the search engines and should be small and tucked away somewhere, and the textual site map can be on your button.

    what info do you put on your textual site map link. I'm still not sure is it necessary.
    Will BV site map just be done after I publish? Does it show up anywhere on my site?
    thanks Roberta

    Have a look at this link on sitemaps
    and here is a whole series of threads to garner more information.

    NOTE:
    (I just entered "bluevoda sitemap" in the search box at the top of this page)

    Sandra,

    When you have produced your sitemap, instead of putting a link to it on your site, just put this in between the head tags.

    <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="ROR" href="sitemap.xml" />
    Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.

    That way you haven't got your visitors clicking on it and getting all confused.
