I'm busy putting my first site together.
While arranging the page properties, i have typed nearly 100 keywords into the metatags, is this ok?

NO......................
3 or 4 main keywords that are used within your page content will more effective.
With that many keywords you could be taken as keyword spamming.

Just to add that ALL the keywords/phrases you use as your meta data, you MUST use as text on the page.
Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.
