Can I publish to the internet to see my progress, make sure all the buttons work and then take it off the internet to finish it.

Sure, if you have your publishing account all ready, then yes, you can do so .. and you then have a few choices to remove that page ..

1) find the html page in your file manager in control panel
2) save the page with another name, publish a blank page up in it's place saying coming soon ..

Yes Markallan. You can publish your site to see how it works. No won exept you will know its there so you don't have to worry at this stage if things are not all working properly. Your other alternative is to go to file> preview in browse> default browser. This should also let you know how your site looks.
