adding new sections to existing forums

Can someone please direct me to a tutorial for adding forums to an existing forum.
I think I am following the directions on screen but they do not show up.

You do this in your forum manager, and if its a main category it will have no parent.. if its a sub forum you have to select the parent

I have used the manager to input but still none of the new stuff shows up.

OK, I think I am lost again. Can you point me to how I get to the forum manager that will allow me to add new sections or new forums to an existing forum

You have to LOGIN to the admin section.

It will display a list on the left hand side of the areas you can navigate and edit.
