Thread: This Is TOtally Weird Titles ON Pages All Coming Up THe Same

Hi,
HAve recently been updating my website and when i viewed my pages online the title of each page in the text box at the top of each page came up with Gallery 08. I know the only page i saved with this is the page named that.
Have rechecked all pages and am totally stumped on this one.
Gremlins, Ghosts maybe lol

Hi .. naming, saving and publishing your pages is different than giving them page titles ...

name, save your pages and publish using file save as and publish

title your pages by right clicking on the page, bringing up the property box and typing the title of your page and under meta you can type page description and 10 or 12 or so keywords that are on each page .. in this area .. all page titles and descriptions should be different ...

Yea i'm aware of these things and am sure everything is saved as it should be.
But mysteriously in the text boxes at the top this gallery 08 writing is apperaring.
When i go back to my web builder it is as it should be on all pages and saved correctly in all places.

I'm seeing correct tiltes for all your pages, you have a few pages missing or not linked right. The hockey club, marsh house, and gallery 07 could not be found. I looked using IE.

I'm actually on about my sub heading on each page. They are all displaying gallery 2008 instead of say: About Us, Rugby Club etc.
Its driving me wild as i cant see why it is happening.
Hopefully you can see what i mean?

I have been having similar problems with my site, if I find anything out, I'll let you know.

Ok now I see what youare talking about. Question; how did you create the additional pages, did you clone them, copy and paste them or create a template?

Copying and pasting or cloning from one page to another is okay unless you .... then change things ..

So if you create a menu with 8 items, give them names, give the urls in that button and then take it to the next page and copy and paste .. then no problems, if you then decide to change things on one given page, this is where you can run into trouble ..

rule of thumb - create a navigation that is suitable, useable, in the same location on every page .. then no troubles.

If you are going to change something .. insert a new item ..

reason .. these turn into images, and are given a certian name by which they are called to the page that you are viewing ..

Ha that could have been it, used pages as templates on and just changed the text. But surely if i have changed it and re saved it , it should work??
I have done away with the boxes now and just put a underlined text box there.

Glad to see you have it corrected now. the last thing I would work on is the images, many are very distorted/pixalated/blurry. do not use the blue resizing handles to make them larger or smaller or they will distort.
