Thread: Help! How do I enable downloading from my site, using WinZip?

I want visitors to my website to be able to download mp3 files, using WinZip. How do I set this up?

Hi,

To do a zip download is simple.

Goto cPanel>public_html and open a new folder and name it mp3download.

Zip each and every download mp3 file and name them ie. 001,002,003 etc..
FTP all your zip mp3 files for download to the above folder.
The download file will showup in your folder as 001.zip,002.zip etc.,

Place the mp3 links on your web page in BV and arrange individually.

Highlight the links then select the hyperlink icon [globe and chain]
and select link. Place the full url of the zip file in the dialogue box.

http://www.yourdomainname.com/mp3download/001.zip

Publish you webpage with the zip links

When anyone click on any link, the download will be activated

Bear in mind that the advantage with zipping here is if you intend for people to download a folder with several mp3s in it. Zipping a folder maintains the structure inside. But mp3s are already compressed, so zipping an individual file will gain little.

thats not answering the question.............to download using winzip, your users should have winzip on their computer.

The above answer will ensure that any zip type program will be able to download the files
