I downloaded the BlueVoda website builder - bv.zip and also winzip12.0. The tutorials tell what to do when you are on the page where you build your site but how do you get to that page in the first place?

hi .. you click on the blue voda icon that should have landed on your desktop .. and choose to open and create a new page .. once there, you should set your page properties by right clicking on the page and setting the width anywhere from '800 to '1000 - the widest you should build in order to avoid sideways scroll and the length can vary .. everything you then apply or put on the webpage should stay within this page width .. save your page when you are finished working on it, be sure to view the tutorials on how to name, save and publish your pages .. If you have paid for your hosting subscription with voda host they would have required you input a domain name when ordering your account . so do that and you will receive a free domain name with your hosting .. welcome and good luck ..
