Text Box Trouble

I can't get my text box to open now.

Usually, I click on the text icon and a box opens so I can edit the box. Not now.

Same with HTML. No box opens.

It seems to me I must have accidentally changed some program setting somewhere. I just want to add a simple text box, like I've done dozens of times, but I can't get it to open.

Any ideas?

Try dropping your cursor on the page and then dragging it out like you do an image

No go. I'm starting to think there's been some damage to the program. None of the icons across the top are functioning in the page.

I wonder if I download the program again and rewrite it, if I'll lose my 2 websites I've created...
