Default Need help with the Assets Manager in BV11

    Hi Guys,

I recently got a new laptop and i need to move my bluevoda pages to it from my desktop computer,

Originally i did this by copying the whole folder with all the images etc... in it and put it on a memory stick and transfered it over to my laptop, i was able to then open them from there but i had no pictures on my pages just the red x as the files locations for them changed

I cant seem to get this asset manager feature working for me either

Do i need to open up my pages on my desktop computer, then move all the images to the memory stick, and then update the images to the memory stick and save the pages. Then when i open up those pages on my laptop will they use the images from the memory stick?

    Thanks

I don't understand. The images should be on the server. On your desktop, you have a copy of them, right?

When you get an image from some place into image directory on your desktop, you then have to FTP them over to the server.

Your pages access the images from the server, right? and not from the desktop.

Would you give us your URL?

In any case, all the directories on your laptop should an exact copy of the desktop in exactly the same position..

See the problem im having is i cant republish pages from my laptop after i've edited them or else ill be given the red X where the images are meant to be, When im working on them in bluevoda i get image cant be located and the red X and the white space where the image should be, i get the same when published

Another thing is i cant put the images etc... in the same file location as my desktop because it was running XP and now im running windows 7 so they have different paths and for some reason i cant make a documents and settings folder in windows 7 so i cant recreate the path ..... this is very frustrating

Would you give us a link of how you access the image on the server.

    I assume it was <img src="">.

Could you spell it out, please.

You will most likely have to reload images and resave the pages on the new computer...else make a habit of storing all bv pages to an external drive.
