Talking page sizes

Hi All,

What is the recomended page size for a good page and what is the maximum length on a page that you can have?

I have seen the training but do not remember this information.

God bless

Rafiki

Arrow Re: page sizes

Start with the default setting in BV (800x600).

If need be, widen the text and image area enough that
the visitor does not have to scroll sideways.

Same for height. However, for height, you can take the longer route.

I have seen some "magic" numbers on various posts
but the best thing is to try it out yourself. Every website or blog
is different and they should be.

Traditionally, menu falls in the left column and ads, if any, in the right.

Leave enough space for both. Just try to avoid the side scroll if you can.

Default Re: page sizes

I was going to ask this as well. I am more concerned about the width of a page than anything. I know that some computers and/or browsers are not able to "see" the whole width of a web page and some of the content may become jumbled up. I try to look at some of the most popular sites on the net and see what they use. I looked at Amazon and their width is stretched across the whole page.

Ebay's home page is not at full width but when you click on an item, the page stretches across the screen. Obviously thes big boys know what they are doing. But I am sure they have some special "strech" page web design software.

Is 600 width a good width for all viewers or am I able to go a little wider? I'd like to go as wide as possible without making the viewer use sideways arrows and/or without the content getting garbled up.

Page width .. anywhere from '800 - '1000 will conform to most users machines these days .. Ebay and sites are built with different website building software than blue voda so that'd be the reason their pages stretch across the entire screen .. The Blue Voda software does not do that ..
