There is an obvious answere here... use awstats in the cp. it's all you need.

Page counters are unprofessional and unreliable.

Hi,
I do understand that not only you want to see how many visitor your getting but also you want show your visitor as well the same number.
I added that before. But it is useless. I recommend not to use it. However, if you really want to use it, search in google.

the counter is not for me directly it's for a sponsor who is advertising on my site. i know they are not a great thing to have. but he wanted one added to the page.
