Thread: First webpage is named "index"

Hi guys,

let me first of all express my fondness for everything voda. You are absolutely the best out there. Just a quick question. When I created my site around a year ago, I named the home page "index",as I had read in your instructions. So whenever I open my website now, it just says index.

From your great PDF book about the secrets to promoting one's website online, you can read in chapter 2.6.6 that for your homepage you should always start with your company name, followed by a brief description of the site.

How do these two go together?

The book refers to the page "title" not to the page (file) naming.

By convention, when a visitor types in the browser address bar the name of a domain (without specifying the page) the page that will appear will always be the "index" page. So, yes, the home page name should always be "index"
