Thread: Download zip file onto site ?

Hi


i would like to provide a download zip file on to my website so that my visiters can download the zip file if they would like to, i have looked at the tutorials but i cant see anywhere, where it speak directly about that issue , of putting a zip file downloader onto my website so that the download window will pop up once the link is clicked for my file


can someone tell me how to do it or point me in the right direction

how do i locate the link for it once i upload it the zip file to the server?

The link is your domain plus the name of the zip file: http://yourdomain/myzipfile.zip

thank you for that but now i have a bigger problem i make a zip file with my own personal files off of my on my pc then once i had the zip i opened up my FTP then i draged it and dropped it to my server


then i made a link for it onto to one of my web pages ,


but now when i go to that web page and click on the link to down it allows me to start the download because the download window opened up but once i got to the "winzip"

it gave me this warning:

The Winzip Wizard cannot open this file : it does not apper to be a vailid archive . if you downloaded this file ,try down loading it again .if you want to add the file to an archive,first create or open the archive, then drop the file again.


do anyone have any ideas of what might be the problem?

,well i also have a new Question , well the name of my zip file is spaced out like in the example below will that cause a probem

It should be www.mydomain.com/this_is_how_it_looks.zip Use underscores_instead_of_spaces.
