Thread: Question re what to do incase of system crash

Hi there,

Just thought I'd ask in advance incase something were to go wrong in the future.

If my sysem crashed, or I had to reinstall windows etc how would I re-locate all of my work?

Ie, Is it best to save all of the work on disc as well as just on the h/drive?

Yes that would be prudent. Save All importand data to an external hard drive, Memory stick or to disk/cd.

Always have a backup.

Thanks, this'll sound abit dumb I expect but I don't have an external H/drive only a Floppy Drive which I could save all my web work to if i can?

How do I do this?

Step by Step would be nice please

Also if the system did go down, would I just reinstall BV and upload the saved work from the disc and import it somehow back into BV?

Also do I save all the pictures and fonts etc used on the site aswell?

What system do you have ?
What is the size of your hard drive and do you have more than 1 partition?

yes you could just reinstall BV

you could then save to your hard drive the data and pics etc
that you had saved to your floppy disc (floppy disc???!!!!)

If your system goes down it will not change anything published to your website....

I have Win Xp

60gb H/drive. Erm partition? not sure about that one.

Just not sure where to go in BV to save all my work to floppy if that's what I'm supposed to do incase I lose everything?

re partitions:.....if you have a D: drive as well as a C: drive then its likely that you have 2 partitions or 2 drives....If you only have the single drive
and have a D: then you have 2 partitions.

How old is your Computer ??
