No, these are the options in your computer Control Panel. If you have windows, it is impossible that you don't have that.

Question Re: BlueVoda Using Different Languages

Hi,

I need to create Chinese version of my website.
I have changed settings in my computer for Chinese (PRC) as was explained at the top of the topic. Also page encoding in BV is changed for GB18030.

But now I have another kind of problem. I am copying text from MS Word and putting it into text box in BV page. All is ok until I am taking off coursor from the text box. Chinese text is automatically changes for another shorter text after the coursor is taken off. The text is shorter and shorter (and different) each time, if I am clicking into the text box again and taking off coursor again.

Please, see screenshots for better understanding the problem.

How to resolve it?

Do not copy and paste chinese. Try writing it in directly.

Thank you. Just a small barrier, because I ought to learn Chinese in order to type in this language :) I think it'll take me at least 5-7 years, but I need Chinese version now and I have translated texts in Chinese.

Are there alternative possibilities to resolve the problem?

I cannot open the link you provided.

Anyway, having BV work with Russian is a two step process.

1. Set the correct character set in BV, i beleive it is ISO-8859-5 (Cyrillic)

2. Set the correct character set for NON UNICODE PROGRAMS in your computer control panel. If you don't do this, you will never have russian.

Please read AGAIN the last part of the very first post in this thread, where all this is pretty explained.

Yes, that's it. But it says English in there, not Russian. Change to russian, then reboot your computer.

In BV you will simply TYPE ISO-8859-5

You know what I mean,
Yes, you can. Simply create pages in Russian and pages in English. Usually a small flag icon (ot some text links) are used to switch between the two languaged.

Please note that you create TWO versions of each page.

There is no tutorial for this. It depends on how the Flash menu has been created.
Usually there is a part of html code, which you can pace in your page using a html box and pasting the code in it, and a flash file which needs to be uploaded on the site separately.

No, you don't have to look at a different area. Spanish is one of the European character sets (though i don't know which one). Do this simple trick:
open in your browser the site of a whatever known spanish site (i.e. the site of a news paper). View the source code of the page and look which character set they use. Use the same.

In your browser, with the page on the screen, View, Source code (or HTML).

Thank you so much, that was easy. In case someone needed the code is ISO-8859-1 (Western).
Again thank you, Luna.
