Thread: operating from Cpanel

Can I operate a script from public_html & how do I open the homepage of the script.
It doesn't feel like it is installed correctly..... Hmmm

Is it something you have installed through Fantastico? Is it a php script that you have uploaded and gets called from a web page? What type of script is it, Paulson? You may get more help if people have an idea what you're trying to do.

Howdy, its not through fantastico, its a auction script.
Yeah its PHP & shouldn't it run from file manager.
If we run the page it displays error 404 & it appears not to open page.
Thanks appreciate all the help & when we solve it we all know how its done.

You probably installed it wrong, delete it, re-read the installation instruction and try again.

You posted another thread about this.. and if you opened pages with the file manager to EDIT the paths to installation etc, you screwed up your php scripting. I told you it would strip out the necessary "/" slash marks needed to run the php scripts. You have to download those pages and edit in notepad or frontpage or dreamweaver, make your path changes and then reupload and then run them. I tried to warn you. If you did this.. you will be reinstalling from scratch.

I just did your OTHER thread too.. which is why you should continue posting to one.. and gave you the corrected path. You are gonna have issues because you installed this whole thing INSIDE the cgi-bin folder, and I think part of it should be OUTSIDE the cgi folder so you can RUN AN INDEX page.

One more thing.. while youre off in a wreck. You dont operate it out of the cpanel file manager.. You type the path in the browser window, just like running soho.. and sign in.
