Hi, you will need to do things differently from what you are doing ..
I recommend you review this http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/sav...-my-pages.html
You should also view the tutorials under hyperlinking - how to make all your pages come together ...
For starters - your very first page you publish needs to be named, saved and published as index
all small letters, no capitals

So can I fix what I messed up?
Oh yes, no worries ...
I think my plan of action would be to view the tutorials, be certain how to name save and publish my files and just simply publish the new files - beginning with the file named index - and be sure all of your links are working on that page ...
When you are linking to your index page from all other pages, you merely need to type your domain name only ... http://www.tripleactionoutdoors.com
For all other pages, when applying the link to that page anywhere you will need to type http://www.tripleactionoutdoors.com/nameofpage.html
You see if it a filing directory for all of your pages -
Best, when naming, saving and publishing your pages, to use all small letters and no capitals and no spaces (unless otherwise joined to gether with the use of the _ underscore symbol)
If you feel brave enough, you can log into your control panel, go into file manager, go inside of the public_html directory and you will see any pages you published as html documents, you can delete these - leave them in your recycle bin for now ...
DO NOT DELETE the public_html directory - go inside of this directory to find those pages that are incorrect ...
Once you have that cleaned out - publish your index page and your site will become live, and then publish all of your other pages .. remembering to apply the links to and from all your pages ...
Name Save and Publish by page name only
Link to page by applying .html after the name of the page in the url (address) - with the exception being the index page

Hi, I'm completely confused about linking new pages I've made as well. I looked at the tutorial and all that but here's what I don't understand.
I have successfully published my Home Page
http://www.paintingsfromsyros.com/
Now I have made another page that I want to link to it. I saved it correctly and published it....and then tried to make a link from the home page to the new page by following the instructions...basically by adding the new page name and html tag to the end of my homepage url
goodtozazzle.html
No joy. The link doesn't work. What I can't do now is find my published new page online because I haven't a clue what the url is. I think it should be
http://www.paintingsfromsyros.com/goodtozazzle.html
but that doesn't seem to work. What would be great is if there is some button to press that allows me to find the new page as a published page but I can't find any ref to one.
Is there supposed to be a particular folder on my computer where all the pages reside...does that make any difference because surely the key thing is them being together on the BV server.
I'm a bit thick about these matters and on a steep learning curve. Help would be much appreciated as I need to get some other pages up quickly. Thanks

PS I've taken the attempted link out of the home page for now until I can sort this out. It will be a link from text in this instance.
OK, I sorted out the page linking. Do you think it was because I was trying too soon after publishing?
But I have another problem now.
I've placed a BlueVoda box link on my pages as requested but it opens in the same place and I want it to open in a different tab. I've tried mucking about in the html but without success. Can you advise please. I have a similar problem with a button from Zazzle that I want to change too.
thanks

in bluevoda open the link properties and select as "target" from the drop down list _blankI've placed a BlueVoda box link on my pages as requested but it opens in the same place and I want it to open in a different tab.
this causes the link to open in a new browser window
Thanks Dan, but it's not an http link, it's html (one of the affiliate boxes) so it doesn't have that option. I think I've got to put the code for target into the html source code but I don't know how to do it.
hm..i just googled around for html codes (don't know much about it) and i think you cant make a html-link appear in a new window.it's html (one of the affiliate boxes) so it doesn't have that option.
if you try some random banners or marketing links on any website, they all open in the same browser window (probably because of the affiliate-code that has to "come along")
maybe i'm wrong and other folks can help you
Well, you never guess what....I did it. I put a bit of code:
target="_blank"
after the first <a [leave the space] and before the href
and hey presto it opens in a new tab...God, I'm so impressed with myself!
It's taken all day but now all my links are opening outside of my site.
Thanks very much for bothering Dan.
wow! YOU actually just helped ME! *g*It's taken all day but now all my links are opening outside of my site.
Thanks very much for bothering Dan.
html just seems inevitable
By the way, i could've come up with that too if had taken a proper look. here's one of my html links:
<font style="font-size:13px" color="#000000" face="Arial"><a href="http://www.website.org/en/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.website.org/en/index.html</a></font>
i wish the butt-kickin' wasn't necessary, reminds of school. takes so much discipline to learn only one thing at a time. That's the pay-off! Feels good, doesn't it? Learning is rarely simple, and is usually time consuming, but nothing beats that feeling of accomplishment, even if your butt is sore from kicking yourself!
i'm watching "the matrix" while writing some stuff right now, would be cool if you could just plug-in any skill you need just like them...
