Default cPanel and redirect option problem

Good afternoon folks.

I have a minor problem I'd like to solve.

I need to have a redirect from http://worldwar2talk.com to http://worldwar2talk.com/forum but when I do it from cPanel "redirect" option, it gives no error and should work ok but it isn't.

Actually nothing happens, no redirecting.

Is there something I am missing?
May someone kick me to right way.

Thanks in advance

Jarkko

Hi Higge .. Here's a past forum posting that is useful for redirects..

How to Redirect & Cloak a a url
Sometimes we want to redirect or cloak a url, the below code is very useful for these purposes.

<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0;URL=http://www.yournewsite.com">

Paste in html in the meta area... CONTENT="# of seconds before the redirect

Works good... Hope that helps... Doug

Thank you both, I think I have it now.
Oh, another thing, now that it is redirected, does SE spiders follow that redirect too?

Well, I have a re-direct but the inverse of the topic above. My cPanel may have been accidently redirected by another co-worker. How do I get back to my index page? My website is www.jeffersoncountyhealthdepartmentwv.org

thanks
kc

Did you try to remove the redirect from cPanel?
