Thread: Can I just rename my files in Cpanel

I've looked through tutorials and Forum threads but I can't find any reference........

I'm trying to get my head around Cpanel and I'm not getting very far so....

1) Can I just rename the individual listings in my Cpanel files in order to make them easier for me to understand and if I do, will this affect any of the work I have done so far? Will I have to change anything else?
2) Why can't I find a listing in my file? I changed the name of a page because I was having a problem with it by saving it with another name. I thought I would delete the original but it's the only one in the file. The new name is not there even though it is the one I update and publish.. Why is this, please?

1) you can rename only the files that you have created, but bear in mind
that you may then loose any links that you have made to that page.

2) You must have a duplicate file if you have saved and published them both......check the spelling etc..........

Ok. So I won't be renaming any.

Nope - the only place I can find any duplicate files is in my BV file on my pc. They must be in Cpanel somewhere but I'll be jiggered if I can find 'em!

If I delete them from my pc, will that get rid of them?

Sure will...but only from your computer.......

Can you use the BV FTP program ?¿?¿

No, I haven't got that far yet - still trying to familiarise myself with my site and Cpanel. But If that's where the little blighters are, I dare say I will come across them when I get there.
