Thread: AW stats - External links

Hello,
In Stats, I find this section titled External links, and these are some of the ones listed. I'm curious about all the idxco listings. I know what it is, it's a property search tool, but don't understand why there are so many of them. My page on MSN dropped from 1st page to 3rd page, and the idxco linked page is the one MSN is using now instead of my home page. I can't even find my site on Google now! Can anyone help me understand this?

My guess would be that your site is being viewed thru your idxco listing or site more than it is its own site. You might be being penalized for duplicate content. Not sure.. cant say Im not totally sure of what your affiliation is with them.. other than alot of realtors use them.

Karen, Thanks for your reply. This is a problem I must fix. From my site, one has to click on the link from my search page to the idxco, for MLS info. It's not the main page. I don't get it. ?????

Well.. search engines will point to whatever page they wish to by how they calculate the relevance. I would be concerned about WHY the idxco is taking over more of your search.. perhaps you should question them as to how their software works more diligently and for the answers to these questions. I might be able to answer you more if i knew more about the software platform.. and.. no offense, but.. i really dont want to..its really not of benefit to me unless i start doing realty sites..LOL

Id take it off your site until you know the full purpose of it..does it duplicate your site for their searches or something? because thats what it looks like to me.

It's an MLS search tool. I embedded it into my site for my visitors to use to search for properties. And I paid big bucks for it, as well as a monthly fee. It's accessed from my search page by clicking on a link on that page. It gives my potential clients the means to search the MLS on their own. If I take it down, they will have no way to get the info from my site, however, it seems if leave it up, they'll never find my site anyway! LOL I don't know enough to understand what's going on, just that I am NOT happy! I've worked hard to get my site up on page one, and now....
If I knew why it was happening, I'd have some idea how to fix it!
I will email them...and hope they have someone who 'gets it'.

Karen, I clicked on all the links, every one went to the Map search tool, I just deleted it. That may solve my problem, but not explain what went whacky.
