Default Restoring One file only from backup

I need to restore one file only from a backup. I have the backup, which is in a format I can't decipher. It was a Full Backup. If I upload it will it replace my entire site?

I messed up the configure.php file and need to get the old one back without wiping out all the changes I did to the rest of the site. I only want to restore this one file right now.

The only way i can think to do it is to make a folder and try restoring the backup to that folder instead of the public html.

Will it give me an option of where to do the restore to?
I have gotten as far as the upload button, but afraid to proceed because I don't know what, if any control I will have once I click the upload. Does it allow me to choose where to restore to?

Also, I had done a full backup, but don't want the sql databases restored. Will it give me an option to just do the files and not the databases?

I'm frantic to get my site back and fixed and the documentation on cpanel is almost non-existent when it comes to the restore.

I know how to publish the page , that is not the problem. If I knew what was wrong with the page, I would not need to restore it from a backup. It is a php file and I just want the old one back and only that one file.
