Thread: Random ? about hits vs. views

So under my CP I looked at June 2009 daily hits and 2 days for that month have hits of 28,000 each! However...the unique views are only about 32. So I know the right one is probably 32. So where is the 28,000 coming from? It does it everyday. Usually it just says 5,000 hits or so with 70 views. Does this mean 70 people are viewing the site a total of 5000 times? I'm lost.

Most of those HITS are likely BOTS indexing your site. Unique views is what you want to look at.. thats usually the number of ips or people or bots who actually were on site.

Thanks Karen. While it would be great to actually have 28,000 people on the site, I thought that was a little off.

Those 28000 views include pages and images etc. that are on your site. It would be nice to get that..LOL
