    Default Password Protect Pages

I've read all of the other posts. I've watched the tutorial. I've done the required chants and sacrifices...

But...I still can not figure out how to password protect a couple of pages on my website.

I would like to password protect pages: Grades_M103.html and Grades_M119.html. I created directories for each of these files in public.html and password protected those directories, but when navigating my website, I was told that the files/pages no longer existed, etc....

Now, I did all of the above using File Manager. I tried to get into FTP by using the login page that was sent to me, but I received an error saying Windows does not have access or Bill Gates was on lunch break or something like that.

    So....????

How are you linking to your password protected pages? Your links should be like this:

    http://Grades_M103.yourwebsite.com/Grades_M103.html

I think this is correct - if you have named your subdomain as Grades_M103

    Hmmmmm.

When you published your page - did you publish to:
    public.html/Grades_M103

Just checking - each bit we do makes it easier for someone to help you....

you added the new directories as sub-domains in your control panel? (Grades_M103 and the other)

It is not correct that each dir/subdir needs it's own index page. It depends exclusively on the link type. If you have a page (not called index) in the pass protected dir, just create the link as http://www.domainname.com/passdir/pagename.html

Thanks to you all!! Creating the subdir and linking appropriately did the trick! Now I have pages that can only be accessed thru passwords.

    Again, thank you.
