Default pre-loading images

does anybody know how to make my site preload the menu and header images before the whole site is displayed? i have made a menu with rollover effects (based on css, not java) and it takes some time with slower connection to load and display the next image if mouse cursor goes to a menu button, which makes the menu work not so smoothly. i'd like them to load up while my site is displaying its intro page so when a visitor is on my site, it works smoothly and doesnt take extra time to load images. how can i do that?
thanks in advance!

i wonder do i have to specify each image separately? or is there a way for it to automatically take all my site images and preload them?
