A nice page, and the pics are great.
-use titles for your pages. Right click on page and change 'untiltled' to India Ascends or something related to your page.
-The Contact link does not work. Actually none of them do, you must still be working on them.

Looks like you are getting there, needs centered though. Move in your marquee in so you will get rid of the scroll.

Nice page, you might want to line the text above and below the center picture so they line up evenly.

Ohhh!! I like the way you put the photos in the header! That is cool! Are you going to put stuff on the page for each photo? I mean, if I clicked on the photo, it took me to a blank page with the photo, but no text or anything. That would be cool to put more stuff on those pages!

I don't know what you mean by "slideshow" effect?

    Hi
Thanks you to all, for reviewing my home page.

Bill, I right clicked the page both on the web page and also when working as the blue voda index file, yet I did not see any "set page" icon.

I need the pictures to keep changing one after the other specially at the big picture area presently where you see big Taj Mahal pic only. This is called a slide show effect. I think so!!!
    Thank you

    Hi Yakuba,

In Blue Voda open your index page. Right click anywhere on the page, a menu will open click on Page Properties. A New window opens, under General you will see:

1-Title you can add your own title here.
    2-Page Width change to 800
3-At bottom check Center in Browser
4-Click Ok then Save and Publish

I also am not a big fan of side scroll. If you right click on an open space on your page, while in BV, you will get a drop down card called page properties on this you can limit the width of your page to 800w., you can also center the page, and set new backgrounds.

The slide show effect you're talking about is nothing more than using the banner rotater in tools on left side of BV. Afterwards if wanted you can created border as wide as needed to forma a frame for your "slideshow". You are doing a good job. Might want to explain somehow or change some of the wording , such as Guests Verdict maybe that is a term in English and that is fine, but most Americans will not recognise it. I would only guess it has something to do with testimonials or judging of your company by clients. Two marquees so close in proximity is distracting. Like the colors and wish you luck.

    Hi!
    I did exactly as told.
I corrected the index page width to 800 and height to 600 and saved.
The index page in bv appears corrected. But even after correction in bv the index file after publishing on the net is not corrected. I cleaned the cookies and temporary files on the explorer. Very very confusing indeed!!!!

The pics in the header create a link. I do not want the pics to have any
link. I have taken these pics from other sites.

The text alphabet appears a bit hazy to me. I expect the text fonts to be ***** like in vodahost website. Help!!!

slide shows can also be set up in media player then inported to yourpage and set to loop. There is more than one way to skin a cat, my father would say. The more you learn the more choices you have on how to do things, or in my case the more confused you become. LOL

You need to go back and verify that your page width is indeed set to 800, do not worry about the length of the page.

Here's a tip - in Blue Voda, top of the page - MENU- click Layout > Guide Settings and in the middle of the new window check where it says "Show Guide Borders"

There is nothnig wrong with your text, the haziness is a result of the color combinations not BV.

If you do not want yr pics to open in a new window go to the LINK button on the MENU and delete the link from there.

    Save and Publish again.

Don't forget after after you save the change you must click the publish icon to make the changes on the web. Also you may want to change the
alignment on your texting from align right (defalt) to center, or not. To change click on the text, when the box reappears click the center align on the tool bar, then click the save and then click the publish. As in all editing make change, save, publish, then review.

I was looking at your site to see if you had any luck with the slide show and noticed in your post that you took pics from other site? Your other site I hope. If nothing else it is unethical. But I'm sure you know that. I did not see any slide show effect, what happened?

Very nice site and I agree with the above comments. I would also so suggest maybe making your text centered instead of left justifed as it might seem to flow more with the site but that's jsut me. I really look forward to seeing the site when it is fully functional. I take it you will be offereing tours to Shiridee, Tirupati and other faith destinations all over india or are you concentrating on the north mainly....

    Really good site.

My site is not resized as per my choice till now. I did everything possible under the sun to resize my web page. Are you seeing it as a corrected web page. let me know.

    Hi beegud2
I am pleased and encouraged by your comments. Yes, we do all India Tours. I am stuck with page size issue. Will think about the text only after my page size issue is resolved.

just a couple of thoughts first, listen to Bill use your mouse resize the marquee then delet the top marquee. Center you Faith India.... in the right side of the header, take out the extra spaces in the index at top,see that each of these is centered and you will be centered text and all.

Although I personally don't like to side scroll, your site works well and looks very profeshional. You do, however, have some overlaping text on the top left of you home page.

It looks alot better. Great you got rid of the marquee problem. But I would still think over the use of Guest Verdict, I know I don't know what it is. The page looks 100% better than last time I saw it. Still no page name.

Be sure it is in fact titled index and simply published in the same name. Try "SAVE AS" to officially save it once more....
    >Right click on your page in BV and be sure to enter the Page Title, Meta values before you publish.

Do not add anything in the Publish dialog box when publishing to your main account...
you should only see public_html/ and the space to the right blank...

And, you should have a few pages ready by now to publish (even if not finished) just so you can test out your linking and logistics....give you a framework to fill-in, right?

    Dennis-

When hyperlinking (pages, to other websites, or "email" functions), when working in BV you have the option to specifiy the type of action for each command whenever you use the "Hyperlink Tool" (which looks like a World with a link of chain in front of it in the top of the BV browser).

A dialog box will present, and by default, will display the "http://" action -- you will see in the menu that you can also insert the "mailto:" command if you want the link to automatically create an email to be sent to you.

Below the "action" command, you will see TARGET, and the menu there will show:
_blank > this will open up a new browser window as a "pop-up"...Highly preferred, as this leaves your Main/index page always underneath = something to anchor the visit.
TOP > which will simply 'switch' pages like in a book, leaving the current page behind *This will automatically be filled in unless you choose _blank or mailto: ...essentially, don't bother selecting anything unless you want a pop-up, email, or bookmark!
SELF > this will direct the command to seek a destination on this same page: to use this to zoom in on an area of content, and you will have to add an "#" (bookmark) to the URL string >see bookmark tutorial i.e. TOP could return you to the bookmarked top of page, and Returns (if also bookmarked) would skip down the page to the paragraph describing Returns....
mailto: > which is the command you will always specify to create email: you will insert your email address, etc. to get it delivered any way you want, but remember! it will only open the specified default email editor of the viewer, you cannot force Outlook on him for instance.

I think you get the hang of this now, right??

And....I would select either Verdana (#1) or Arial (#2) as your chosen Font style....they are universal and easy on the eyes. And, if Verdana, 9pt is optimal, and Arial at 10pt.....consistency=continuity, and THAT is essential!

You have a few grammatical and typo errors already: try this method>
Compose your content in Word, in the right font at the right size, and then use Spell check for spelling and grammar (it will also point out syntax and missing/extra spaces, etc.). When satisfied, simply Highlight/Copy/Paste into the BV text box...done!
It's also the simplest way for others to contribute writing content and by transferring files, be able to move methodically and more quickly through the layout stages.

    Hi Yakuba.
I like the template, text gives good info.
I personally like a marquee that comes in and stops, your call.
The open spaces on each side of the text (orange and light grey) could be utilised.

It is absolutely much better than the last time I saw it. Personally, I am a stickler to offsetting details that make my eyes wonder. Take a look at your links just above the marqee and you will see what I mean. "Home" is very close to the edge on the left and the end of "payment" (the letter T) is farther away from the edge on the right. What I am trying to say is, Move your links over to the right just a bit so that it will be centered. I am assuming you will also have more to add to your site so I will visit from time to time. I like the improvementsso far.

VodaHost offers a FREE Merchant Account for all clients. (a Global Payment Solution you can benefit from)
Submit a Support Ticket with your Customer ID number and Domain name and all the details will be sent to you.

Second best solution (not free, however) would be with VeriSign.com

    Hi!
Thanks Vasili for your response. I have contacted vodahost.

The page resizing is again causing a problem.
Working on bv file the page won't scroll down.
I had typed text that I could not access.
I tried to resize by right clicking:page property
I tried to resize by clicking on the menu bar.
The right margin is again out.

The bv file "about india" is opening in all files and has
an internet explorer icon ,and not a bv icon.
    Why???

Please visit my website and click India Tour
    Thanks

Are you referring to the little icon next to the address? Those are called favicons. Don't worry about it, not everyone can see them.

    Default Review My Home Page

    Hi!
    Thanks Bill for your review.

I need to know if I can upload only promotional banners with images/texts
without a need to uplaod the full page. Let me explain:

My index page has vacant spaces on both sides that I need to fill. I want promotional flashing banners put on the sides mentioning what the sale is all about.

For example: Delhi - Agra(Taj Mahal) - Jaipur for only USD 499/- per person. If I need to change the price or upload another banner why do I have to upload the whole index page again and why not only the banner.

    HELP ANYONE!!!!

    Thanks

Cool Re: review my home page

    Puh-leaseeee!
The same time it takes you to "publish" added banners you can simply re-publish the page ....(which you need to do as required, as BV is written in CSS and demands the entire page be published with code intact). The only way banners can change without effort on your part is if you originally load a dynamic (affiliate) banner which in actuality "points" to a specific php page/image they host, and they modify or update the banner on their end....
(Thus the term: "dynamic link") If you are trying to cut corners, try creating a page separate from all your others to apply this same principle...but, methinks you will see this too is something you will need to effect and maintain as well...

How are you saving, index or index.html ?

You may have to save temporarily, for example as, index1 but DO NOT publish. Close BV and reopen index1 and then save it as index this will overwrite the old page.

Your home page shows: http://www.indiaascends.com/index.html ideally it would show http://www.indiaascends.com

Travel is one of my favorite things, the first thing that caught my eye on your site was of course, the Taj Mahal, then the other pictures. I automatically went to click on the pictures to get a larger view, the rafting looked like fun. Maybe "Come visit India" instead of "Come". Your site is intriguing, I'm looking forward to coming back to see what all India has to offer.

    Hi! ryanhitchings
Thank you for your kind comment.

    Still working on my site.
Have a serious issue with page resizing when pics are loaded.
It seems I need to do a pixer resizer on each pic in a page.
If I have a 200 page website I need to do pic resizer on all the pics in each page and than save it one by one. Looks like a lot of work for me !!

Any fresh inputs on page resizing will be highly appreciated.

    Hi!
    I have published 2 pages
    www.indiaascends.com/about_india.html
At the bottom of this page I want the visitor to click the link to the next page
"Welcome to The History of India"
I have already published the link page: http://www.indiaascends.com/history01.html
The link opens perfectly well in the internet browser.

    My problem:
Inspite of doing everything right as per the video / support forum, http://www.vodahost.com/vodatalk/hyp...nal-links.html,
I am unble to hyperlink the text "Welcome to The History of India" to published page http://www.indiaascends.com/history01.html

When the hyperlink icon is clicked, hyperlink box shows up and after typing the URL, once, OK is clicked the text link is not hyperlinked. Why????
    Please help!!!!

    Hi Again, Dennis!

Unfortunately, I cannot see your actual BV page nor observe what you are or not doing in the process.....

    If you are:
    1. completely highlighting the text "Welcome To The History of India" with your mouse prior to clicking on the hyperlink tool,
    2. and then carefully clicking on the field to enter the specified link so as not to "erase" the default "http://" that is already hightlighted (it can easily drop out and not be noticed after typing in your link, making it inoperable);
    3. and being sure to choose either "none" as the style of link, or your preset style if you have created one before you "finish" linking;

....then I cannot tell what is going wrong. As it is now, you are right: I'm not even reading any roll-over (or "hover" in the hyperlink dialog) on the text.
Are you saving the page after adding the hyperlink before publishing? (can't forget to do that, either, you know!)

Don't know what else to suggest.....other than to go super-slow once again, making triple sure you are not missing anything mentioned.

(Site is looking good, by the way! Verdana seems to be working well for you, and I can see you have made a lot of work on keeping your content brief and pin-***** accurate pay off big time!)

    Dear Vasili

WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT YOU !!!

You are bang on target. I was not highlighting the text.
The video tutorial does not mention to highlight the text before
    hyperlinking it.
Please visit the site again. Links are working. Please ignore the india tour page. Links are not working on this page, as I do not have original bv file for india tour.
Believe it or not, my hard disk crashed last month and I lost all my bv files. I had to redesign the site all over again(no back up!!!).

Thank you once again for all your help!

Thank you for visiting my website.Delighted to see your review. You are right. Printed matter if too small, is of no value. No one can read it. If you hover over the map and left click, you will go to a separate page where there are not one, but two maps of India and I guess fairly readable. Hi! One and All

I am again dealing with page resize issue.
I am doing everything right, layout/guide setting/ or rt click/page property/ width 800/height1200 and page corrects itself on BV.
But in preview and when published, the right margin is out. It has to do with pics. I run my pics on pix resizer but can't always accept the recommended size as effects the, look and feel, of the web page.

Two pages has the right margin out.

Obviously you have not been understanding what you've heard....there are 2 ways to accomplish this:

    A. CLONE Simply by using the Clone button in BV you can duplicate a page exactly, and merely change the vairables (text, titles, meta, etc.)

    B. *******TED COPY If you prefer to have a more "hands-on" process, you can click once on each element, and then using the COPY button (top left of BV browser bar) to copy the element as formatted, shift to the new page, then use the PASTE button (reight next to Copy icon) to paste the element in the exact same position it was lifted from. ** This only works using the icons, NOT when using Copy & Paste as found under EDIT

    Whichever is easier for you.

PS: No on promised it would be Quick, but BV sure makes it easy....LOL

I can see you've been doing some work on the site. As others have said, it's definitely coming along. :)

One very tiny thing to point out - there's a "Double Click to edit" thing that you must have forgotten to use or delete that's on the "About India" tab... it's actually "hidden" in the upper black bar. I can only see it because it overlaps some text because I typically increase the size of the text so it's easier for me to read.

    Hi Yakuba,

I usually go into my cpanel and delete them manually. I think you can also delete stuff by connecting to your ftp server which is faster.

I like your site the only thing I would like is to be able to click on your pictures and have them take me someplace.
