I've just scrolled down and had a peep at the fantastic first attempts by other members.Ummmm... makes my site looks awful in comparison!!!!

And I was so proud!!!!LOL

Awww dont be scared...we all been there lol ...and so you should be proud ..youve done a great job so far your site is looking lovely ...love the colours .. one suggestion tho .... your pages are very wide resulting in a big sideways scroll ....people dont mind scrolling up and down but not sideways ... its easy fixed tho .... just follow the link below to the letter and that will sort it out for you ...hope that helps...

I'm using firefox and I have no sideways scroll.I have also tested it on friends and families pc's (all use firefox) and they have no sideways scroll either.

It's great to be told these things...thanks again.

Well, Uhh...most of the VH technology is preferrably optimal using IE (Internet Explorer), although there some who swear by Mozilla, FireFox, SlimBrowser, AOL, so on.
But.....some advanced utilities require IE, and since most "base-line" users are IE dependent, it may be better viewing the world through their glasses, right?

Whatever! I'm getting blind, I am so exhausted. Nite!

PS; No, she is referring to setting your page width in BV to 800 max, and "centering" it in Page Properties for optimal view. Your own monitor settings will not affect the universal view....(sounds like you are set at 1024x768 or greater) ...but just be sure your SITE is set at max size for universal view....

Any site I visit that has a sideways scroll ..i simply click off...i've viewed your site on aol, slimbrowser and IE and its almost half a page scroll on all of them ..but ...like I say ... your choice :o)

Nice site, elegance in simplicity.
I checked FF and I get horizontal scroll. If your monitor is set to anything other than 800 or 1024/1028 the scroll disappears. But then we need glasses....

NO FEAR, your site looks great. I agree with the others, the side scroll needs to go. I use firefox on a powerbook and the pictures on the right could not be seen unless I scrolled sideways. I think you would want the pics to be instantly noticed. Another thing I noticed is some of the font colors on the colored background were a bit difficult to see. White on light blue. All in all a very nice clean site.

Just another note. I take back what I said about the white text on light blue/green I think it is ok since it is only one word and that word fits with white. It can be seen, it is just more difficult. I always ask people with bad eyes to check my sites text and fonts for readability. Our goal is to make a site that all can enjoy easily.

Hey! I think it looks great...youve done a wonderful job. I do agree that there is a major side scroll. I know that frustrating as I had to revamp myself...Once you get it perfect on YOUR screen doesnt make it the same for everyones screen...so thats why its so good to be here...
Before VH...I used to go shopping and use any available pc!...lol....and thats a much worse way to look for tiny tweeks...much more time consuming!...lol
I love the use of color...its very calming....

Wonder why it's not worked?

before you publish do you check your page width? with mine and many others it will change all on its own and I have to check EVERY time before I publish or it will come out wrong...
on both IE and FF its all perfectly centered. there is still a side scroll...but the page itself is fine...Im wondering if that might just be the number in your page width
Its coming up as a width of 805

I did notice that the page width changed of it's own accord...so I made sure it was at 800 before I saved the page to publish.

I'll go through them all again and check that my web goblin hasn't been up to his old tricks!LOL

you can change your scrollbars to match your sites colors...Ive have to play with the colors, but its worth it in the long run.....

I thought I had done that on the index page....lol!

Scroll bars are lite blue in FF and oliver green in IE6. Both look fine.

Bill - how come I dont get scroll colors here? never have been able to, am I missing something in set up of FF?

I think you did a real good job, I'm scared too, I have my site up for reviews, so far people have been kind. Keep up the good work. Rule of thumb - whenever you put bits -n- pieces in any kind of design, whether it be landscaping, painting, decorating or whatever, they say to do it in lots of 3's, 5's or 7's.
