Thread: Need Opinion On This Please

Hi guys,

I'm a difficult guy for choices, I created a logo that you can see if you click in my web site link in bottom (please take a look at it), but I always see its haviness and no match for my eyes, I remade it several times but still not satisfied.

Now because my wife likes the green color and I like simplicity, I created another one, but there is so many options for placements, so I got my 3 best choices, but unfortunatly I'm not totaly convainced which one.

I would like if everyone opens the link bellow and feed me back, if you can tell me which one you like, first, second or third, and if it's possible to say why, maybe my mind and eyes will get it more. but if you have any other suggestions, welcome.

You have the dreaded disease called, "you-have-stared-at-your-own-web-page-too-much". This is very common.
I would say no to the third one because it is not as dramatic as the first two.
Wow, this is hard. I feel the second one is more balanced. The first one is more eyecatching.
I think the writing is dead right. I might reduce the size of the sphere in the first one and see what that looks like.
Then I say to myself these logos are great, but why is the colour green there. This is night. Shouldn't there be black, purple and neon stuff. But then it would be too busy and wouldn't satisfy the simple look that you want.
But then this is your logo, not mine. So I am allowed to type some random thoughts, without coming to a conclusion. Good luck, your artwork is great.

Thank you so much, it's great to hear nice comments like that, but may I justify something?

The color green, first because honnestly I tried all kind of collors you can imagine, even I added some special effects before, but it was too hard to take it, too havy, my wife likes grren, so I went to green and it looks fabulous, it's not NIGHT, it's NITE.

That has an explanaition as well.

In the Art, any touch or movement, line even a dot has a meaning, I can't tell what is the meaning of nite except that is a combination from different things, it doesn't mean night at all just because it's a production brand.

The size of the sphere goes with it's different placement due to future calculations, I don't think about just how it looks like, I have even to think what I can do with that logo later, maybe I will put it in a billboard, maybe a T-shirt who knows, so that you can manage between branding and process.

But I really like your comment, it's helpful, I kind went with one of them, without telling until reading other's comments.

Nite.. They are all excellent... Good work for sure. I like the second one best. I personally think that is the one with best placement of the words and the sphere :) Couldn't get into your site though (password required) sorry my friend.

The first green one, with one small exception : the 'i' it starts so low almost looks like an 'r'.
Of the old ones , my vote goes to the one on the left.

I was going to change them as well, but after what you said I guess I will keep them and just reverse the colors, because the background became gray now.

I like the first one. The larger green orb on the left balances out the text and draws your eye to the name. All are good. I looked at your other site. It looked great as well. Good luck to you

Well, you know, got thoughts, then recon change it and when throught evrything again, I know I'm hard, I got never satisfied easely "in craetive wise" the rest is normal;)

It's so good to see a large number of people commenting. NP you gave us an almost impossible choice, because all 3 logos are good. My feeling is that you are presenting a jazzy look, and at the same time it's classy. This is hard to do. Well done.
After I had posted my first comment, I thought that the sphere could be given just a hint of the moon, or a planet. But then I got the "night" thing wrong, didn't I? Anyways, it's just a thought thrown into the big forum pond.
(Makes my site appear really dull, but then I am trying to promote a different product, that requires a different theme.)

Thanks mate, I know that's why I said I'm hard to convaince in art, I had so many problemes with graphic designers in the company where I used to work, They love me because I don't put pressure on them, but I always give them work, change this no change that, and after many hours, naaaaaaaaa, let me give it a thought again, some kind of things like that, they hated me for that, even if most of them cried when I left.

For the web site difference, BV and VH gave us choices, you can just use the easy tools if you are in rush and go ahead, or spend one of your years subsciption just in creating and discover it and then give it a go, that is my plan, I gave myself a date, no specific one but at least I'm thinking in 2007, the first launch of the web site will appear, I still don't know the month and day, because I'm moving back to Australia in few weeks to settle.

(I think it will be more versatile and easier to duplicate in many mediums, not just online.
Laid out Left to right, and more "together", just cleaner.....)

If you were thinking of changing the bubbles the only thing I would say is make them a little more faded so that they blend with the background more.

Doing this will make them not so noticeable but then they will appear as part of the overall design and less like a foreground image

Actually you'll be surprised I did what you said by another way, I just gave the background a soft gray color and gave the bubbles a little tense of gray to show, they are great now, maybe I'll publish tomorrow or after tomorrow, because I wanted to buy a picture from the net I liked but the baster bank blocked my credit card cuz I didn't use it for a while, F#$%^ idiot in Dubai, I want to get outta here.

My choice is 1st green. The "blue ball on the metal plate" logo is the best of all the logos.

(To my eyes, in the green logos, the "t" in "Nite" appears as "f". Looks like "Nife". Sorry, I just wrote what I felt on the first instant)

I like the second, it seems that the round figure takes away from the name. Sort of putting the name in a shadow, figurative of course, but it just seems the name goes first.
Don't know if that make sense.

Loved the green one. I think it's very memorable and the easiest to "brand" with.

I use CS2 because with in this version you can converte your design from photoshop to illustrator without having the breaking pixels, but you have to play with it a little bit, I'm following advices from a book of Suite CS2 that I found by coincidence.

I know the blue one is the best, but I found some difficulties with it, I tried to converte colors for branding, T-Shirts, Fax sheets, and it was difficult with all that effects to keep them on black or white version, I lost some stuff that I needed to show badly, so I decided to change the entire logo.

I give #3 100 votes! #1 - The ball is too big and draws attention from what is important (The Name). #2 gives the impression of being off-center, although it isn't.
#3 is perfect! Take it from a businessman...by the way, what software did you use to create the logos?

The 3rd one looks more sofisticated an elegant thats my opinion

Illustrator to create, photoshop for effects and converte from photoshop to illustrator to keep vectors as CS2 gives that option by playing around the work flow

Site still looks great! Noticed there is a scroll bar to go up and down but for no reason ... Might want to take the scroll off and centre it more.

I am using IE7 Beta 3, sorry .. the screen is a little bit larger in IE7 .. but you might want to fix that now because the final version of IE7 comes out in the fourth quarter and alot of people will have it.
