Smile Website is live - finally!!

    Hi all

Thank you so much to you all that have helped me, most you will not realize that you have helped as I have been reading lots of posts and learning so much.

This is a great forum with great people.

Please look at our company website and let me know what you think and how I cam improve or change it.

The one thing I am disappointed with is that it is slow to load - any thoughts on what I can do to speed this up? I know also that a couple of links on the terstimonial page are not working and my process 123 page needs to be renamed. Other than that I think it is working ok!! I will make the changes when I get to the office tomorrow - I was just so excited that it is live!!

    Thanks again

    Well done.
-Loaded fine but had to refresh to view pics.
-Clicking on Pooley opens a new window "Page not Found"
-Your header Pooley enterprises, inc has frazzled edges, was this on purpose? If not, use Paint.net to correct this.

    Thank you for your comments.

The edges on the Pooley header are the best I could get, will paint.net fix this?? I will have to look at that.

Pooley is not supposed to link to anything - will fix that when I get to the office today!

    Thanks again

Paint.net will help you fix it, look at their tutorials and save as a *.gif file which is a bit better for this purpose. "save for web".
Another option, redo the header in MSN Paint and save as a *.gif.

    Looks great!!!! Nice work : - )

My only one criticism is that every page opens up into a new browser... a tad annoying. I appreciate the need for that sometimes but in the case of your site I don't really see the need for this. Otherwise fantastic job!!

What setting do I need to have it on to not open in a new browser?

You need to double click to open the menu bar links. Then in there it will have a drop down list for "target" you will find all yours will be set to _blank

You need to just delete this word. I.e. have nothing in the target box

    A bit of advice:

    Q. Why would you use the links to open in another browser window?
    A. If you are linking to another website you would use it then so that the customer then can see the other website without straying away from yours. Once they have looked at the other website, they then shut that page down and your website will still be there : - )

    Thanks Bill,
I just like making them so I might as well do it for a worthy cause rather than just play around.

Nice looking site. I like sites that are on one page style with no scroll bars. I noticed that your pages don’t have any home buttons?. I think it always helps users just encase they get a little lost as your site grows.
The header logo is great in the index page but fuzzy on others. Quick bit of cut & paste will solve this.
And a few pages need centring. IE contact us form.

    Looking good

    Chris.

I keep centering these pages then they jump back!!! Contact us should now be centered again.

All the headers have now been updated - I was in the process of doing them and then re-publishing.

They should all be opening on the same window as well now and not opening new windows all the time.

What are people's thoughts on having a HOME button on every page? My thinking was that as I have all the icons on most pages that I did not need this? Your opinions on this are welcomed.

    Thanks everyone

You put a lot of work into it.

Users have several options: use a Home link, back browser or closing. You can have a Home button or put a link behind yr logo to your home page.

Loads better & looking real good. Found one more to centre, but I bet you have done it by the time you see this. http://www.pooleyenterprises.com//uploadform.html
