Thread: Just updated my homepage

Hi, i've just updated my homepage on my cubecart site from fantastico in Cpanel and wanted to get your views on it. Loads ok etc etc. Thanks

loads well, full of content, but there seems to be a large white space at the top of your home page ??????????

There are a couple of graphics at the top and they load fine for me but i'm just wondering what browser you're using?? I'm thinking that could be the problem or it just needs a refresh?? Is anybody else having this problem??

I can see your globe etc but above that a BIG white space.....

I use the opera browser...........

strange not sure whats happening there cos should be nothing above it. I'll check the source code and have a fiddle then get back to you.

Is that any better for you?

afraid not, its about a quarter of the screen above the globe and the search

Ok just realised there was a flash object there which shouldn't have been. any better? dunno what it is if wasn't that????

I am checking it now... looks like a nice site. But I too am getting a lot of extra space.

I've tried adjusting the text size, but it still shows up a little funny.

I don't know what any of the "problems" would be. I'm not sure how you set this up.

That does look strange. Really not sure what's gone on there???????

I will tell you exactly what is causing that problem..............

If you check your page you will find that you have 2 copies of everything.

Just move one item around and you will see a duplicate below it.
and that applied to several items that I moved......

How did you manage to see that cos checking the source code from the server it only includes single items, no duplicates. Can only thing that the php is creating HTML copies of itself for the search engines. I'm going to optimise it today so hopefully that should sort it

I simply downloaded the whole page to my computer and then had a look!!

Its posible at one stage that you may have copied and pasted various items, and duplicated them without knowing...it happens all the time.

I can only think there's a problem viewing it in the opera browser as everyone else who has looked at it has no problems. Not really sure how i can correct this but will have an ask around.

I just wanted to let you know that I just went to the site and it looks like everything is now fixed! I haven't been to it in a couple days, so there must have been something you did that fixed everything. :)

I didn't mention it before, but I'm on IE7. I don't know about other browsers. ??

Anyway, looks great.

Mook, I love your site. I went through everything and its rocks! I am interested in buying a few things so I will be back. Good job!

Nope, not the browser ,cos everything is in the right place now...............

woohoo!! glad to hear it. Not sure what i did but don't really car now it's fixed. Just hope it doesn't happen again. lol
