I've not put either of these two sites up for review, but since Jim "Naghosthunter" is giving me so much attention, I think I will.

All suggestions welcome and any jobs too, lol

I don't know if it's my browser or not but on all your pages Theres and over lap of the tilde ( big letters) Writing ( small letters). also i can't see your www. and Phone # the line is threw them. looks like the google search is not centered and the $70 cash banners is over lapping it.

Love the colors , the flag is a very nice touch:)

Okay, I've gone through those you mentioned, would you see if they are looking right on your browser now ... ty so much

Home page- Perpsration is over lapping 2nd line

the contact looks ok now the () go slightly below the line.

the search is off to the right you haev a big blue spot on the left.

Rates- The income tax prep over laps personal income.
Suport- the Cainad returns over lap small buisness
contact- Preration is over 3 lines phone # needs to go up some

One of those you refer to is a bulleted list, it shouldn't be overlapping???

The overlap is still there. Between the second heading and the body. Another point, the gradient look is good but it seems to distract, especially at the bottom of the page where the blue color make the blue lettering very faint. Just my two cents. All the best.

Small point: you might want to bullet the following:

Not getting any overlap her, using IE7, BTW

Nice site, simple, clean, easy to navigate, all the buttons work for me coming and going.
I like the color - blue - it is soothing, nice touch for a tax site.

One suggestion. - -
Where the gradient gets darker progressing down the page the dark blue text gets a little tough to read for me older eyes..

Most likely I'm just pore at explaining and not saying it right lol.

OK here it goes I'm talking about the larger lettering over lapping the smaller so you can't read the small under it.
looks like you did what I did the large words in one text box and the small in another I had to play with mine a lot to get it not to over lap lol. some of it a gave up and just wrote it all in the same box the contact page looks good but for the phone # and www. in the header the line is still threw them needs to go up a bit.
OK I see where you said bulleted the large words are over the bullet section. if there separate sections just move the bullet down some.
the search is still not centered try lining it up with the white words above it they look about the same length

Chris, I have taken the red border off of the senior discount box, I too thought it looked jagged, it is a voda shape, wonder why?? Any thoughts??

I was viewing in 1400 resolution, I've brought myself down to 1024 I really still do not see the overlapping, off center, etc. lol ....

what's going on ... I have a shiny new machine, a very nice large bright monitor ... maybe that is my problem ......

I can't get the overlapping on Firefox or IE, with 4 different browser settings. I did not try changing my font size - so does anyone getting that NOT have their font size at the normal (medium) setting?

A couple mentions, here, Holly. I'm not a fan of the Google search bar on the page - it tends to take people off your page - and they all know how to search Google anyway. Your site isn't hundreds of pages needing a search feature, as you have links to everything on it already. But, since you have it towards the bottom, if you really want it, go for it.

The 2nd - and it will hurt you with search engines - is you have added links to the bottom of your page which are not at all related to your site. You want the last thing on your page to be you - not those - and those don't belong here at all. I realize you are trying to give your other websites a boost - but how about adding a link down there to other resources and they could be but there. You also added 2 voda banners to the rates page - and again - these have nothing to do with income tax and take away from the professionalism of the site. If you want a link to Voda - that could be done easily on the home or any page by having a link saying - something like - "Income Tax Nova Scotia uses and recommends VodaHost webhosting". The banners could be put on the suggested resources page.

Or keep the VodaHost certified, but don't make it so busy along with the important stuff and move it down below everything.

If you want to keep the links on the pages - look at how you have them on the home - page - where at least they aren't crowding the bottom of the page.

Bethers, I guess I see what you are saying about the google search, I think I'll move it to another page of "Resources" ... just thought with those few names on that search bar re - revenue canada - gave me some credibility, looked as though they were my buddies, you know, lol, (rolling eyes, lol) so I think I'll use it and make another page for it, tuck it at the back, was really thinking it would save me from alot of extra type, may take a few things of importance, such as filing deadlines, etc., and put there too ... good idea??....

Of course I was plugging myself with the links - lol ... so I'll move those too .... (waa waa waa, lol)

I'll put my affiliate banner for voda on that page as well .... please feel free to have all your friends click it, lol .....

The filing deadlines - stuff like that is an excellent thing to put there - keep it related - tightly related! Focus on what the site is about!

I'm going to be quite picky with this comment. I use a transparent bar (Yahoo Widget Croppers) to check alignement of nav bars and buttons, etc. Your buttons/pages are "jumping up and down about 2cm (1/16").
I do find that to be disconcerting on a website.
I agree with the comment about the older eyes having a hard time seeing the text in the darker areas.

Was looking at your site Incometax... and it's really nice and clean. Question, it loads very fast and to me it looks like the menu bar and header is not reloaded each time i click on menu button. If this is the case, how have you managed that? I would like my menubar and logo ets to stay the same on each page and not be reloaded each time. Have a look at www.snickis.se to see what I mean.

I have accomplished this my way ... although there are other ways ... Naval has introduced to this forum, the use of php in which it allows you to build and make changes to your site in the future by adjusting one page, or image and the change will take place on every page .... alot of good reading there ... I will post that thread for you as well..

However .... this is what I do ....

I create my own frame, template, whatever you like to call it, I put everything on that page that I want for all of my pages, nav bar, header, any text etc., I then save it as template .... every time I make a page, I call that up, make the changes to the properties of the page, such as page titles, meta tags, html header tags, (different from the header) etc., but use the basic framework, which is what you want to do ... I then add the content relative to that page, and I save it as the new name of the page, this allows me to start each page with those things in place. And exactly, this framework is already loaded when you visit my site, and it is only the content of each page that requires reloading, it's like sailing through, and you do not notice the change.

You can also use an I-frame ....

I'm a simple gal, kind of use "red-green" tactics, if you know who he is.
It works wonderfully though ....

I must have missed adding it in lol. I fixed it now :). I'm hoping soon I'll have Goat kids to add in. I don't have a video camera I can take a very short one with my Digital camera I have been taking the pictures with. I'm thinking of take some when their out side and playing and adding them in on the site. :) I'm sure someone can help me do that here when I'm ready.

Sounds good Jolen, keep your video that you take on your camera to about 18 or 20 secs each clip, they will load faster this way ....

they will no doubt be quick time format and you just insert that just the same as you would anything, you will see the icon on the left side of your tool bar in your page builder. One video to a page is best .....

About Shapes/Borders in BV: any border beyond 2pt in BV begins to feather noticably, especially anything not rectangular.....it is always advised to add even a 1pt border of same fill color to shapes to help define edges.

PHP vs. iFrame: I love the concept, but I still see some variance in visitor performance (comments on load, jittering). PHP is more SE-friendly, so maybe by the time I develop a personal technique, the bugs will have been addressed. >> Double-check that the registrations for your php fields are precisely in the same place page to page.

Prices: Your Prices seem incredibly modest....even for NS! You may wish to give yourself some flexibility without losing consumer interest by posting minimums, or "as low as" prices.

Contact: Disappointment........I thought for sure you would have at least presented a professional Form to process your inquiries! You should not rely on Outlook to always perform for you, for in more than half the cases, it freaks out those who do not/have never used it for email. Whereas Forms are commonplace... If Naval's ABVFP (newest version due EOM) is too much, then at least Keith's validated one! Hmmmmm!

Hey Holly! I need you in the U.S.!!! Here again...I'm thinking you are not charging enough for your services. But I don't know what Canada rates are like either.

I just have one comment on this site Holly. I too like gradient effect, but the only thing I don't like, is that it when it is in a larger area, the colors don't blend as nicely and they appear real choppy to me. I wish that wasn't the case, because I do like the effect. My personal opionion would be to drop the gradient. Other than that, I really like it!
