Thread: Help Please

Hi Friends,
I am very interested to design a website for our church,but i dont have enough knowledge about web design,Now I am trying Bluevoda website builder but I am finding difficult to design a good website for our church.I have seen few nice church website designs,but i am unable to design like those websites.
I shall be very grateful if you help me in designing a good looking website.Now i have all the matter to be typed in the menu.I will send the information,photos to be included in my website.

I would suggest putting it together as much as you can, read the titulars then up it up here for review and they Will jump in and help you. :)

Its not so daunting to build a simple website, you will enjoy it once you start, I suggest playing with the bluevoda web builder for a while get used to the features, read the tutorials, we all sarted there, ..then open up a blank page in bv builder and first thing to do is set your page guides, click the link below to do this it has step by step instructions, if you need any help there will be plenty here all you have to do is ask....what is your site called?

Have a go at it yourself - you will be suprised at how good you can be! There are so many people here to help you with any problem you might have, and boy are they patient..
Watch the tutorials, and then watch them again.. and then try it out.
When you get it going post here with you poublished page and we will all have a look and offer whatever help we can.

i need a little help
1. buttons on my pages
2. each page has buttons to goto next page
3. edit buttons
4. first box is http://
5. next is link box http:// ????? 3rd box you leave blank_ right, what goes here and how to publish these pages so they actually goto the next page on my website.
6. my main page of course is up, but very slow.
7. if you click a button to goto the next page ( nothing ) happens
8. also file publisher off the buider
9. do i put this box on main page and add all the pages in it i want published.
10. what am i doing wrong
11. and finally is there a program to add to site to speed it up, so everything goes smoooothly, and my wav file plays how it's suppost to.
12. iv'e seen the tutorials, i just dont understand what im doing wrong.
13. hopefully we can resolve my issues.

I watched the tutorials but still i'm unable to edit the image files(.GIF) created by you as one the forum member clarified that the menu buttons created by you are image files not created by VD and VD program unable to edit your image files such as home,about us,service times etc.When i right click on the menu bars i'm getting image properties screen and there is no way to change the names of the menu bars created by you.
So,will you please explain clearly how you created the menu buttons( image files) of these two designs blue and brown.

Hi Sunny

I dont know what your doing, but the menu i created was created using BV navigation in the BV builder,..it is not a gif image...ok lets start again

1. delete what you have there as a menu..click image go to "edit" delete.

2. Click on "Navigation" tool to the left near the bottom of your bv screen.

3. Now you see a panel of 4 buttons saying "blue voda" put your mouse arrow over the panel and right click the mouse on it, go to "properties" and click on that

4.you will see at the top "general" and "Style"

5.In "general" you will see 4 blue voda links, click on the top one and go to the right and click on edit.

6.A small window will open called "edit button" these are where you put your links.

7. Where it says "name" type in "Home" then go to where it says URL and type in like this....

http://www.yourwebsitename.com/index now repeat for all your other buttons..highlight-edit-change name-type in your URL

your URL links should something look like this

8. Click "OK"

9. Now go to the style tab and click on that.

10. here you set your text size and colors of text..font size 10 and first colour black
mouseover colour click on scroll button and scroll down to "custom" type in the first 3 boxes these numbers

Hue 44
Sat 178
Lum 200 click "ad to custom colors" then click ok .

11. Now click on the little arrow to the right of the blue voda button image...scroll down to the very bottom and you will see the light button I used there , click on it.

12. Now go to the right bluevoda button image and scroll down for the darker button ,this is your mouseover, its near the top so dont scroll to far down, click on it.

13. Click ok....done!

14. Now put the menu in place where it should be but dont forget to delete the white box with the red cross in it before putting the new menu in place...to place exactly use your arrow keys on your keyboard...click on image or menu then use the arrow keys to put in exact place.

15. when you have done all that and you have the page looking nice and all in line and straight, right click on a background space on the page and go to "page properties" check that your page width is always 800 ..doesnt matter to much about the length.. ....and centre in browser box is ticked.

16. Click ok...click "save" then publish... Done

Can someone please check that I havent forgotton something here....is it to complicated? as i'm at a loss on how to explain this any simpler, this is the 3rd time ive tried to explain...any one got any ideas please?

Zip the pages and e-mail to the recipient. Have then download BV and unzip your pages and insert into the BV folder.

Probably best to get them to sign up on a vodabid account and let a freelance web designer bid for the project. Will only cost on average about 20 usd per page.

Recieved your blank BV file.The reason why i was unable to edit the nenu names is that i din't load original BV page as i loaded untitled HTML webpage,so there was a problem.Now I can edit the menu list names easily if you please send original BV files of these two pages that have menu list Home,about us,service times etc.

Hi Sunny,

Sunny I dont understand what you mean by original bv page?...you already have these pages, all you have to do is add the menu bar,

If the page is untitled all you need to do is...go to file and "save as" and name the page whatever you want it to be ...Our Leaders, Services etc etc.

Dont forget to save your Home page as index
Save as ..index. ( only when you have decided on wich design you want)

If you need another page ..open a new blank page and copy everything over...or... use the clone button.

The drop down menu that shows all the Bv buttons, just scroll down untill you see the button thats the same as the one I used for the menu then click it.... do the same for the mouse over..the drop down menu to the right.

For Church3 the colours are....

Maroon

Custom Yellow numbers are...
Hue 32
Sat 181
Lum 115

Cross colours are...Blue

Gradient border are a combination of

Blue the Olive colour is ...
Hue 40
Sat 240
Lum 42

The font is Times New Roman for the Title header

Size 36
size 20
size 22

And Arial for the text content size 12

Sunny , why do you need the blue design? I thought you decided on the church3?

Atlast i came to know how to edit the menu bars.The main mistake i have done is that i din't see properly,the little arrow(scroll) in the button image,i thought there are only 3 buttons.Now after scrolling i found the right button of yours design.I thank you very much for your guidance.
Now i need to put some videos,photos on my website.I will be very grateful if you help me.
