Thread: Port of Shadow

A Fantasy Role Playing forum set in the Dungeons and Dragons setting of Undermountain. You do not need to know D&D to participate, just a good imagination.

What sets my forum a part from others? You can create a character that will interact throughout the forum "behind the scenes". There are numerous features not found on any forum, and unfortunately you must be logged in to see them, so please no joining unless you want to participate. However, you can view the "poster-panel" to have an idea of how a character looks.

What I am looking for is feedback on the overall setting/feel of the site. Thank-you.

Well it LOOKS pretty gothic and gloomy like a dungeon should I guess, but.. Its hard to read. Text needs to be slighly bigger if you can.. or slightly LIGHTER or something..

Id have to really be into that stuff to stay and read much.

Your forum definitely looks cool, and like Karen says it's a little dark, so you should perhaps make some sort of adjustments to accommodate this, even though it's fun playing in the dark, this may not be the case here, lol ... and I have a bright screen, and it's dark for me ...

Absolutely right look for this sort of site. What others have said about readability is spot on: I suddenly realised my nose was practically pressed up against the screen. I see google page rank rates your site at 2/10 which is higher than most sites I look at on these fora.

Thanks for your feedback. I checked the site out on seven different monitors in two separate organizations and at home and only one monitor displayed the site as dark, so as long as my members are not complaining then I'll leave it as it is, for now. And I am 40+ who wears bifocals.

LadyEye, what I wrote is how I meant it. I do not think it appropriate for a member to automatically make a negative assumption which belittles me. I'm no child. I play by the "rules", and if one has doubt they should have the courtesy to PM the member in question, not make a belittling assumption in public.

Nova Scotia? I am moving there this summer. :) It will be good to get back to Canada, and more so back to the Maritimes, :)

The reason this was questioned, is there are so many people that do drop in here with many posts daily, that are not voda hosting customers. So the question to you by Bill was sincere, he was not making any assumption whatsoever. Bill is one of the greatest members on this forum that would never hit you with a line of sarcasm, never, never, never. I hope you can see and understand this now ..

But welcome to Nova Scotia when you arrive ... it's not the sunniest place, but it's definitely a great place!!

Holly.. there was another response in here that Lawrence was responding to, that is NO LONGER here. Which doesnt matter except you are quoting him and only getting half the story. He really wasnt trying to be obtuse.

Lawrence no need to delete your thread.. I saw the other post to which you were responding.. so it appears funky to those who didnt see it.
