Thread: need advice - picture loading time

I am going to be putting a lot of pictures on my site now - have used web album generator http://www.movingon1.com/nayarit.php and also trying the lightbox http://www.movingon1.com/michoacan.php links to pictures on bottom of pages. i like light box, but for me web album seems to load faster. advice please and thank you in advance

I like the light box for a few images, but I believe the page is downloaded with all the large images in the back ground. So if you have 5 images in the light box at 100kb, your page will be 500kb. But with an album it takes your 5 images & loads 1 image at a 100 kb and 5 thumbnails at about 5kb each.
When you click on a thumbnail it gets another 100kb image & swaps them over. So your page is never any more than 125kb. The album will work a lot faster if you have many large images.

No problem loading. Thanks for sharing pics. Lightbox did load just a bit quicker.
One thing, on the NavBar - Guerrero is mispelled (left the 'u' out)

I think the photos are fine without the light-box. They load very fast and are ***** and clear,funny what tourist capture on film. Love the Huichol Indians.
