    Default Advice wanted from Vodians

I've decided to redo my /shop.html pages because it looks too "amateurish" for the web although I'm still an amateur, no need letting the www see. Anyway, my idea is to have a template that resembles a "page" so that instead of having links of page1,2,3,4 like the current is now, visitors can click a corner to get to next page.

I've searched for page template, book template, etc but couldn't find any. Is there someone here who knows where I can find such a page OR tell me another way to redesign the current /shop.html page so it doesn't look so sloppy? Thank you in advance.

Would appreciate Bethers or LadyEye's opinion but anyone will do, please chime in.

Find a post by LadyEye and merely visit one of her websites to email her for advice. Same for anyone else.

Posting like you did is not only awkward, it really IS in the wrong area...don't you think?

No General, I did not think it was awkward at all else I would have not posted it. I searched the forums first for a similar reply before posting and could not find anything remotely resembling my request. Anyway, would you have any other recommendations to my post that would take me in the right path of finding a solution other than repremanding me publically? I look forward to your reply. Thank you in advance.

    Respectfully yours

If you are looking for a "page-like" image you can use as a 'templated background' you might find one suitable by surfing through many of the album utilities as well as after doing a Google search on "website template, free, backgrounds" and merely right-clicking on one to "Save as background."
I have a few I could have offered here, but they are in storage on my other system and thus I do not have the ability to set them up on a blank web page for you to view and/or pull from. However, LadyEye also has resources in this theme, but alas, she is out for the day.

Or, you can also create your own "turned page corner" effect by using multiple shaded triangle objects in BV, stacked to simulate the shadowing and other nuances that would be commonly seen.

In either case, you would then simply place a transparent object over this area and hyperlink it to the next page ---- this way when a visitor rolls over the "turned corner" it displays it is linked, and will deliver the next ordered web page.

And....I disagree, inasmuch as this is the "Showcase" forum, and not the "Adding Elements" or "Saving, Linking, Publishing" forum: this forum is specifically to show off VH websites for tweak & critique, not solely for "helps" with a preference.

Thank you Jeremy for offering help. The page is www.ourjourneytolife.com/shop.html and all the subsequent navigational links within, (ie Page1, Page2, Page3, Page4, etc)

My apologies again for misplacing my post. I don't know how my post landed on the "Showcase" forum, I thought I was in the Customer Website Reviews - Your Testing Ground forum. I'm still a newbie and didn't know what elements are or used for, so I couldn't have guessed that using a shaded triangle object you mentioned, would be a way. I did googled your recommendations above before I posted for help here, and didn't find anything. Maybe you can direct me to where you found the ones you have in storage on your other system, then I can copy them directly off the web? Thank you for understanding General Vasili, and know that I appreciate your advice and help.

No, you will need to export all your Photoshop files into a .jpg because not everyone has .psd formats on their computers so they won't be able to read that when the site is on the net.

Frankly, yes.....images are universally seen as configured (unlike fonts, which are based on a completely different foundation and format).....the file format itself may or not be universally manipulated system to system, but that does NOT preclude viewability.

.psd does not always = .png and some computers configure them to .bmp when trying to save them. .png does not always = computer friendly .png generally are larger file formats because they are losless and really are layers. It in general will depend on how that png is formatted rather or not its web friendly or user friendly and rather or not your computer compresses it to a single layer bmp and losless.

Technically, yes, I agree Karen.....I was merely popping balloons carelessly let float thru the Forum! LOL

GENERALLY, PSD images are automatically re-configured to display with the current systems out there nowadays, and PNG is also becoming more commonly used, as the trickle-down effect of software use becomes more unified and utilities become more "advanced".....the very reason BV has been upgraded to utilize these formats!

And no, Pristine.....it is "regular duty" to share expertise (and what some consider common knowledge) here in VT....."Progrees via Peerage" is the tradition we maintain!
It is also why it is so easy to "correct" mis-information, to the benefit of all!

Hardly! I've not had to draw mine for quite some time!
And I am not one for sophomoric displays of useless banter.

My aquiessence in part to your explanation was in no means acknowledgement of a premise from Jeremy......it is common knowledge whose contributions are regularly worthy to be collected....and whose are not.
