    Question Website displays as an untitled page

    Hi

    Could you please look at website and help with any pointers as to how and where to improve. This is my first try. I noticed that on the web under source my website shows up as an untitled page. How and where do I go to change this, and what is the best way to name it, related as to what our industry is about. You help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Right click on the page in Bluevoda. Select Properties. Change Title. Click OK. Upload Again.

    Hi Vincent & Beth

    Thanks for your replies. I did download your SEO basics Beth and found it helpful, thank you so much.
    Vince I did what you suggested and was not able to change the title.
    I'm wondering if when I make the changes and go to publish it, am I just making another page. I'm very confused and would appreciate some more help in getting this to work. How do I make the title in the original site that I first publlished to change to what I would like it named? Appreciate any help and thank you in advance again Have a great day.

    Sincerely
    Vic

    Nope, you shouldn't be making a new page every time you publish.

    But be sure you do not confuse the name of the page that is, how you have it saved with the page title, which is what you want to change here.

    As mentioned before -
    open your page in the sitebuilder
    1. Go to View
    2. Select Page Properties
    3. Where it says Title, enter your preferred title - what you want it say.
    4. Save
    5. Republish the page.

    That should do it

    Good Luck

    Possibly your computer is cacheing the page - try hitting refresh in your browswer after you publish - or reboot the computer and try again.

    Are you publishing it to the right ip address? Is it saying it published successfully? Can you make changes to any other pages and publish them and have it show? Are you saving the page with the changes - when you come back to your BV page - are the changes on it?

    Hi Beth

    When I go tp view and into Page HTML, it opens up and displays the the title correctly. Here is what I copied from there.
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
    <title>health-cash</title>

    Sorry to bother you again, what else can I try.

    Thanks

    If that is there - then it is displaying your title. Where do you think the title should display? Can you give us your website to check? Are you expecting the title to show on the page itself? If so, that's not what a title is.

    Hi,
    try like this:
    1) Open Bluevoda
    2) on the right side of your page " http://www.mannatruckerbiz.com/ "you have a white background, right click on it
    3) a small window open saying " page properties " on top & page HTML down
    4) left click on page properties
    5) a window will open, you can see on top left " Title" put your title in there, and click Ok
    Also. before publishing go back to step 3, but now open page HTML, click on " between the head tag ", copy and paste this script

    <META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache">

    save the page & publish again
    I hope this will help

    Me again,
    I think you have not open that page properties I was talking about, on meta description I can not see any keywords, no page description .
    You will need to put informations in it.
    In your index page almoust on the top left there is something that looks like a picture, but I am not able to see it.
    Has anyone else notice it?
    Ciao

    Where did you look to get that information? Here is the view source from your page itself:

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
    <title>Untitled Page</title>

    Are you previewing to get the other? That's not from the published page - what I just gave is.

    A little tip.
    On your red shapes !
    You have put a link on the shape, but not on the text, either you also put a link on the text or put on the whole " red shape & text " a TRASPARENT SHAPE with the link.
    On more think, in pictures or shapes you have to write a text in the
    " Alternate text ".

    Ciao

    Hi Beth

    The part I highlited above is what I was referring to. When I log into the internet browser with my website www.mannatruckerbiz.com it comes up as an unttiled page in the browser. Also in the internet webbrowser under View and under Source it shows as in untitled site.

    But you copied and pasted that you were getting something else in the view source so the new page is NOT published. Publish it correctly and you'll see the right page. You haven't changed the NAME of the page have you??? The name HAS to remain index.

    Hi Beth

    Thank you so much for helping get the website to come up with the right name. The problem was, I did change the name and that's why it didn't work. I changed it back to index and it all worked out fine. I didn't realize that it had to remain index. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, been away for awhile. Thanks to you all for being so helpful. Perhaps I will someday know enough to help someone else also. All the best and have a great day.

    Sincerely
    Vic
