Thread: Another newbie

I'm just about ready to publish my very first website. I have a couple of more items to track down or work around. I would really appreciate the feedback.
Do I go ahead and publish it and then come back here advising it has been published?

I wouldn't use too many different types of fonts.
Are you going to have just 1 page? Where are the links?

Before you continue adding any more to your home page I suggest you take up the template from the page as it looks to me like you have some old text you may have originally placed on the site underneath it. I get a very quick glimpse of it before the template downloads. You need to remove the template and then remove the hidden text behind it. Hope that makes sense.. sorry I just got up and still half asleep!

NZBR, Actually I only used one type of font, but I don't see that font on my screen when I go to the site. ?

Angstless - They are fully adjustable but she will make em for special sizes. :)

Viewing from here the present in the top left covers your text up!

Okay, I moved the present up and left and made it a bit smaller. Hope that corrects it. It's interesting that I would publish a page and it would look okay, but then my wife's computer would show where something like this would be covering the text. Thanks for the input.

That is a MOST hilarious site. I especially love the one for St. Patrick's day, just PROVE you are wearing green!

and the 'applications for models' is an unexpected touch!

I just ran my site thru sitereportcard.com and the results show HTML warnings:
99Warning: <img> escaping malformed URI reference 104Warning: <div> anchor "bv_" already definedand they are repeated with different lines numbers.

Also it shows one broken link (http://)

I cannot find the broken link and have no idea what the HTML warnings mean. Should I be concerned?

I've had my site up for about 2 months now, and I've probably redone each page at least 10 times...I'd read something here and then go make changes...

but that is a high school class site and I'm not too worried about it - it doesn't sale anything.
