Thread: please test index page :)

hi all
can you nice people test my index page, i would like to know how fast its loading, the logo was loading slow. is it any faster!!!!! ( top logo little butterfly )
and also is it better with the background on? background only on index page.

Not too bad ty, too much work as usual.. but that's the way I like it! Trying to wind down before we go on our cruise in just under 2 weeks now. Hope you are keeping well too.. site looks really nice.

Hi Adele, Firstly I think your website is excellent and I also like the background. Your page does load quickly but for me your logo/header does lag behind, everso slighty (only because I'm tuned into it). I noticed you have broken the image up to obviously help it load more quickly but it does appear to be the last thing that loads.

What I've noticed with BV is when you put the images on the builder, they publish in the order they were placed and when the page is being viewed on-line, the images load in that same order.

I noticed this was happening to my sites and then I realised if I start from the top and work my way down, the page loads (for me) in the right order.

But saying that Adele it's only when you build these sites for yourself do become more critical, but I think what you've done is great.

I really liked the overall design and the top 2/3 of the page. But why do we have a payment banner sitting in the middle of it all which really looks ugly by comparison to what is above and has not purpose there.

I'm also not too sure about:
- the large size logos. What is their purpose? Could they go on a separate page under "Our Brands" for instance. At the very least, smaller and tidy would be good.

- What is the point of the page rank thingy? And the miscellaneous links there?

- Also not keen on the wordy info at the very bottom of the page. It's just a distraction. Keep it clean, clear and simple.

Anyway, that's just my opinions for better or worse!

I really like the look of your site, one thing I did notice, is that up in the right hand corner, where it says Your gift box contains 0 items, the 0 is overlapped by other print.. perhaps clear your cache, and reload it to see what we are seeing.

One thing I noticed is that you menus on all the secondary pages do not match the home page. I like the menu on the home page with the roll over effects, where as the other pages do nothing.

Very nice!!!! layout and colours are fantastic! Just a tip, try to put the enter site button at the top of the site so people don't have to scroll down to see it.

You have done a great job, the improvements are a huge plus.. I am still seeing the text overlapping in the top right of your home page though. Up where it says your gift box contains.. it overlaps the 0 and the word items is up under the word gift box.
