Thread: Re-Designed and ready to be Viewed

Hi Guys & Gals, Just re-designed the site, it has worked very well for us over the past year but we felt it was time to spring clean the whole thing and freshen it up. Appreciate any views, critique, suggestions, etc.

I am a bit concerned about video as it takes a long time to load, can I re-size in any way.

Anyway, regards to all from Ireland & Cheers in advance for your help

Hi Padiwak,

It is indeed taking a long time to load the pictures (I've checked all your 'menu').

You know the middle horse? The black and white picture? I'm using FF and I can't see the guy's head riding the horse! Maybe you should move all the 3 horses a bit down. It's happening the same in all pages, and on the 'link' one I can't see the head of the person on the right - wearing a red top.

Hi, the site feels a bit disconnected in places & was getting lost. You really need a menu that is common through out the site.
Going from http://www.ecklandssportshorses.com/index.html to
http://www.ecklandssportshorses.com/...acilities.html & the menus are different.
Need also to reduce your images to help with page loading.

I am using images that have been re-sized, if I use more pages and less images per page will that help??. or is there any other way to speed up the loading of the pages.

There is still some over lapping between the old site and the new site which I will sort out, all navigation will then be common to each page. The Images are already re-sized so how can I maximise page loading time, would it be best to use more pages and less images per page??

Have now completed (I Hope) the re-design of the site, I have taken your views and comments on board and hope that things are now better. Pages seem to be loading quicker and the site looks crisper and flows better (I Think) look forward to views, critisism, helpful advice,

It is loading faster now.

I also think you should add more contenct on your main page. If your goal is to sell horses, you need to customize your landing page (main page) so the SE's can find it and rank it better. There are simply no content let alone important key words related to your business, such as: horses for sale, sport horses,etc.

Hi Davek,

You have to be careful for not having your site in a 'spam' way. I've counted 11 times the word 'horse' on your page!
You have to have always in mind the people who are going to read your page - make the site for them, and your work will be consequently good and appreciated by the SE's. My personal opinion is that you should add more content if you want to keep this amount (11) of 'horses'. Tell a bit more about them, the work you do,etc..
I know it's not that easy....but you'll get it!
