    Default Site adjustments completed

    Thanks for the feedback, site is now much faster (except the gallery, to do list!) and looks much cleaner. The glass buttons used before seemed to be the culprit for the slow speed previously.

    Thanks again!

    Cheers,

    Hi, the slow loading site is down to the 2.5meg background image on the page. http://www.terrafirmacreations.com.au/tf%20logo%201.bmp
    Might be worth cropping the image to get the logo & just having a blue background colour.

    Oh yes...much nicer! Get the logo whipped into shape and you got it going on. How do you like it?

    got some sideways scroll, so maybe page widths need adjusting.

    Your gallery loading time isn't too bad. people expect to wait a bit when clicking on a gallery. it's your logo that takes too long.

    You are doing a great job!

    I Agree its much neater without the buttons. Logo will be difficult but by the sounds of it definately needs doing.
    With the page size, I have set at 600 x 800...still too big?

    Thanks heaps!
    Cheers,

    Ok, further changes made:

    * Page width 750
    * Logo cropped and resized
    * Fixed up the enquiry submittal sucess/failure pages

    Future changes to be made:
    - Page about staff with pics and info
    - Page with before and after adobe presentations
    - additional pictures to gallery
    - Considering making downloadable customer quotations available online when we have completed them

    Thanks again everyone...would have had no idea without your input! Thank you!

    Very nice the pages load quickly, they all have the same layout and design. Clean, clear and concise. Personally I would tone the back ground color down a bit but thats just my opinion and you know what they say about those. Good job.

    Sorry but I have to add to your "To Do" list...if you collect personal information from visitors of any kind (contact form, sale, etc.)...you really need a privacy policy page. Without it, well,... I don't fill out any forms or opt in to anyone's newsletters without reading their policies first.

    Just something to consider...

    Smile Re: Site adjustments completed

    Hi,

    Nice start, the only real problem I can see, is the white text on blue back ground is very hard on the eyes, I would also move the navigation buttons over to the left a bit more too, they seem to be stuck out in the middle of the page.

    Cheers and good luck.

    Thanks again everyone. Only problem with the blue and orange are our corporate colours...maybe by changing the white to off-white would help? Orange would have looked too tacky in my opinion for the information sections.

    I agree with the privacy policy, and also wonder what others do to combat spam bots?

    With the nav buttons, I had them as far over as possible but ended up with a large area of blank space when live. Not sure why!

    To combat the spam bots, use some type of capcha for contact forms and use an email riddler for your email address.

    Here's a link for just one of the many email riddlers that you could use:

    Use this link for how colors of text will look on your background....
    http://w3schools.com/tags/ref_color_...asp?color=Navy

    You have plenty of choices here, but MY preference would be Alice Blue text on your background color. It would be easier on the eyes than the starkness of the white...however, I don't feel that your text color is that much of a problem. Good Luck.
